Five years after his passing, artist Michael Jackson is creating a fortune and is the top-procuring dead superstar, raking in an expected Us$140 million (Nz$176m) in the previous year for his bequest, Forbes magazine said.

He earned more than twice to the extent that artist Elvis Presley, who passed on in 1977 and came in second with Us$55 million, and three times more than illustrator and Peanuts funny cartoon inventor Charles Schulz, who brought third place with $40 million.  
 
"Few superstars demonstrate the point that there is (money related) life after death better than Michael Jackson," said Forbes.  
 
It is Jackson's second in a row year at the highest priority on the rundown. He recovered the title in 2013, a year in the wake of being pushed into second place by performing artist Elizabeth Taylor.
